Introduction

It is not hard to find blog posts around saying that Data Science is dying. While this is a bold statement and kind of a click bait as well, I’s say that not even those who write this actually believe in it.

My opinion, plain and simple, is that data science is not dying. And it is not even close of it. I believe that what’s kind of going away is the big hype around the area. Data Science was a big buzzword for a long time, and now it is being replaced with other terms like Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, ChatGPT and others.

Data Science is here to stay

Data Science is a broad area, thus it is not likely to go away any time soon. Many companies still don’t even know how to deal with the area and how to attract professionals and compose teams properly. There are tons of companies, especially the small and medium-sized ones, that generate a lot of data every day, but they don’t know how to process all that information and make it a competitive advantage.

That is where the Data Scientists must come in and claim their space, helping those clients to extract the best insights from data.
